Upset Prevention and Recovery Training
Description
In accordance with European Aircrew Regulations, Multi-Pilot Aeroplane (MPA) applicants, for the issue of the first type rating course for a MPA, must have completed an Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
Course Objective [Advanced UPRT]
The Advanced UPRT course strives to develop or emphasise the knowledge and awareness needed to understand the threats to safe flight, and the employment of mitigating strategies and upset avoidance as a prevention strategy. Furthermore, the training enhances the required skillsets to effectively recover the aircraft from a developed upset back to the originally intended flight path.
The course comprises of:
- 5 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction;
- preflight briefings and postflight debriefings; and
- 3 hours of advanced UPRT dual flight instruction.
Additional Information
AEOLUS Aviation Academy has also developed type-specific UPRT for the B737 and Α320 aeroplanes. This is an additional training courses and should NOT be confused with the Advanced UPRT course, which is a requirement for the issue of the first type rating course for a MPA.
