The Advanced UPRT (A) course, enhances the required skillsets to effectively recover the aircraft from a developed upset back to the originally intended flight path.
The training objectives are, for the student to udertend the relationship between speed, attitude and AoA (angle of attack), the effect of g-load on aeroplane performance, aerodynamic indications of a stall (buffeting and loss of control authority), techniques to recover from: nose high at various bank angles, nose low at various bank angles, spiral dives, stall events and incipient spin.
In accordance with European Aircrew Regulations, Multi-Pilot Aeroplane (MPA) applicants, for the issue of the first type rating course for a MPA, must have completed an Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
The course comprises of:
5 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction;
preflight briefings and postflight debriefings; and
3 hours of advanced UPRT dual flight instruction.
