Description
The CPL(A) course, provides PPL(A) holders the level of proficiency necessary for the issue of a CPL(A).
This course includes the necessary:
- theoretical knowledge instruction;
- flight instruction; and
- Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT),
for an applicant to perform as PIC of the appropriate aircraft category, the relevant procedures and manoeuvres with the competency appropriate to the privileges granted.
Note: An applicant for the issue of a CPL shall have fulfilled the requirements for the class or type rating of the aircraft used in the skill test.
Prerequisites
Minimum Age : 17 years
Medical Certificate : Class I
Previous training :
- PPL
- 100 hours as PIC (of which 20 hours cross-country);
- 5 hours night flight time;
- 10 hours basic instrument flight time (of which 5 hours may be synthetic);
Theoretical training : CPL or ATPL theory
Privileges
The privileges of the holder of a CPL are, within the appropriate aircraft category, to:
- exercise all the privileges of the holder of an LAPL and a PPL;
- act as PIC or co-pilot of any aircraft engaged in operations other than commercial air transport;
- act as PIC in commercial air transport of any single-pilot aircraft (subject to restrictions);
- act as co-pilot in commercial air transport (subject to restrictions).
